DLS Iridiums going FULL ACTIVE!! need help!

Looks good! With the most of the vocal range now more forward the stage should move forward nicely. I would also try (just with backstrap or duct tape temporaraly) the tweeters near the midranges. That way you don't have to worry about T/A (time allignment) on those two channels.

ok wow. I just got back from Seaworld with my woman which is 1 hour and 28 minutes away (one way) so I had some seat time. Ok first thing I noticed was the sound in the mid range was wayyy more forward than I would have thought the new location would do. I havn't realized it but before it felt like the mid (on my side) was bouncing off my body to my ears. Sorta like in a compressed way the mid ranges sounded. Also, remember that shreaking harsh sound?!??!?!?! Hell yah I got like 80% rid of that (now it only happens when the vocals are really screaming but I think that it has to do with finding the right level for the mids). Man it just totally transforms my whole system. I want to try putting the tweeters next to the mids but holy cow I totally can't find the grill covers for my tweeters!! So I'm going to go ahead look for the surface mounts ( and actually angle it towards the seats). If that is missing I'll order from DLS if they can send that to me. **** now im hella excited to do full active heehee!

hahha jk.

glad you liked the change. in any car, install is probably the most important part of the system. again glad you liked the change.

the guy still hasn't gotten back. ima try to bug him on aim, haha.

Haha thanks alphakenny. Can't wait to get the h701 as my US amp 4300x just arrived today. Awesome looking amp and really dig the clear lexan bottom! Anyways I hooked up everything with the correct polarity and messed with TA a bit. Maybe its because my cabin is really small but, when i delay the passenger side, everything opens up and spreads around teh dash. What puzzles me is that I thought everyone used TA to maybe delay the driver side (that being closest to the person driving). I feel like i opened up the stereo imaging when I delay the passenger and making it feel like my cabin is wider then it is. Which brings a question about the H701: Can I time align each driver (in my 3 way frontstage) to each other? Say delay the tweeters to work with the mid and vice versa?
