I know this is the wrong section, but I also know that it will get seen by more people here.

I have been tasked with looking for speakers for when my fraternity throws parties. Our current speakers have holes all over them and the amp started smoking when I last turned it on.

I do not have a budget yet, but what are some brands and good combinations of gear? I will report back when I have a set budget.
