DIYMA 12 subwoofer help!

Just installed my Diyma 12 in a 1.25 cubic ft sealed enclosure w/ an Alpine PDX 1.600 Amp. Used 4 gauge wiring and 14 Gauge speaker wire for the subwoofer. ANL fuse about 6 inches from the battery.

I am also running Alpine Type R components and 6x9s in the back w/ an Alpine PDX 4.100. Grounded both amplifiers at the same spot (Dont know if this is problem but i read on crutchfield that this was okay).

The subwoofer sounded great at first with very deep bass. So after playing 2 songs on it, I cranked the volume up to 19 and the components and 6x9s shuts off immediately. I can hear a little thump of what seems to be the subwoofer still playing in the background. I turned the Alpine 9835 Deck off and waited 5 minutes to turn it back on. After turning it back on, the components and 6x9s worked fine like theyve been but the subwoofer sounds alot weaker. It seems like the subwoofer is struggling to push air (not sure if im describing it right) but the bass isnt as tight or deep. I checked the amp and the gain was on maximum so i set it back to normal but the sub still doesnt sound right.

Can anyone tell me whats going on and how do i fix this problem? I hope i didnt damage the subwoofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. I just got it in the mail a few days ago.

you just fried your sub

but i would pull that that sub out and check VC on it. but if you had gain all the way up. I highly doubt you set the crossover and that bish was playing full range and bye bye diyma sub:wave:

why was your gain on max in the first place. and you should always check settings before turning everything on.

if i recall there isnt a full range option on the 1.600 so you werent running it at full range.

something else seems wrong if your entire system just shut down on you. check all fuses everywhere. make sure your grounds are good.

but if he didn't set it and if its a mono block(like the other ive ran) i bet that bish got up to 200 Hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif it doesn't take long with the wrong note and a bunch of clipping to fry it

yeah, but from what i understand the diyma can handle that, as long as he isnt clipping, which he was sooo........ who knows. i bet on top of having gain up all the way, he had the input switch wrong as well so was clipping even worse than he woulda been!
