DIY doctor ?

i hope all works out, but in like 3months you come on here saying your friends kidney shut down or died cuz you are playing doctor with him i truly will laugh my *** off. but honestly good luck.
What is intersting about the dietary supplement market is this. They love

to sell you product and many of those hyped up multivitamin or mega vitamins

have abnormal dosages of ingredients, I was shocked. I made a huge database

for 2 months to analyze these vitamins. Many if not all of them give you

super high dosages of vitamin A retinol, recommended is 2500 IU, they give you

5000 - 10,000 IU. /crazy. Furthermore, to add to the comedy, the product label

says that taking high dose of vitamin A is bad for you, yet that's how they make the fricking pill !!

It took me 2 weeks of working daily to find a multivitamin/mineral pill that had

a nice balance of ingredients, consvervative dosages.

The rest of the vitamin regiment is just B vitamins which is water soluble and the body

releases the amounts it doesn't need that day via urine. B vitamins are safe, maybe

one expection to the rule.

Vitamin C is complete safe. You might start to get some gas or diahrea

in high dosages starting at 5000 mg, but mostly the uber high doses cause

the sh!ts, like 25,000 mg. It's safe.

Amino Acids, antioxidants, these dosages is controlled for safe consumtion.

Herbs? Only one herb is being taken, a special cinnamon extract. Herbs are neat,

gotta try those next.

Compare this regiment with harsh drugs like smoking dope, pain meds, cholesterol meds, people are getting thrashed using western medicine practices

especially if you consume them daily at high dose.

The natural methods are safer.

If the person dies, then there is another market for this regiment. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Herbs and natural shit can do some amazing stuff.....
I think I know *one* reason why supplements might now work for someone.

One example I found.

Lets say your doctor identifies a magnesium deficiency problem and tells you

to consume 500 mg of magnesium.

You, the consumer head off to the drug store and snag the first thing

on the shelf, magnesium oxide 500 mg per pill.

You consume this for months, have gas, have the sh!ts, and the deficiency is

still there.

What you didn't know was;

A pill bottle labeled;

Magnesium Oxide 500 mg

is not the same as;

Magnesium (from Magnesium Oxide) 500 mg.

The first one is Magnesium oxide 500 mg, of which maybe 50 mg is elemental

mangesium. You are taking only 50 mg.

The second bottle implies 500 mg elemental magnesium derived from magnesium oxide, and they don't like the amount of oxide, you can do the math to figure it out, maybe 5000 mg?

To compound the problem, you don't know that the oxide version is horrible

and doesn't absorb in the body well, hence it's a laxative. To get magnesium

inside your body to help it heal, you need 'asparatate, glucinate, orotate

or chelated versions' for better absorption.

Second case. You are B-12 deficient. You take B complex with contains

B-12 cyanocobalamin in micro gram dose. Your b-12 scores don't rise.

Why? Two reasons. The B-12 your body needs is methylcobalamin in the blood

stream. Your body takes cyano and with the function of body chemistry, produces

miniscules amounts of the 'true b-12' you need, the active form.

If you get the real stuff, methyl, and inject it into the blood stream, you get

results. Sublingual (under tongue ), you get the active form absorbed into

the blood stream.

So... it's easy to see why people don't get fixed with vitamins and minerals

because there are small hidden tricks that if unknown, won't fix you.

I found special forms of B-1, B-5 that are better than the average bear.

To compound the problems, the same principles apply to amino acids

and what not.

It's crazy. But I think if you found the right herb or pill, it can do the job.

You are right, most "pills" don't have a very good absorption rate and do not give you what you need. I take some stuff, can't remember the name that is active vegetable and fruits that they break down. That shit is amazing. I'll put the name up there when I feel like getting up and getting the bottle out of the fridge. BTW, the nastier the stuff tastes the better it usually works....

honestly, u either A: found all this on google and decided to sound smart or B: Really know your shit and should be schooling if not already.

I know all this can be found and learned on google, but the fact that you know what all this IS, and how it all acts together, is amazing in my eyes. Im REALLY getting iterested in biology, but I cant make up my mind if I want to go that route, or civil engineering. I really am fascinated with how the body works, and why it works and what works together to make it work. But....the money/benefits/job security is in the government fields around here.

If you read my first post, I did find the information in cyberspace. I spent

a few months researching, looking for clues. Right now I have 50 megs worth

of articles, raw data, and I made a binder for the patient. More or less, there

is no claims 100% by the scientific community that diet pills is useful, but

they can be useful. The trick is to gamble and take a chance. I don't know

which pills are the big contributor, maybe it's one or two pills? Maybe it's

the sum of all ingredients? I know that taking vitamins, minerals, amino acids,

antioxidants and herbs isn't exactly a mystery. This stuff has been promoted

for decades, it's the western culture that doesn't listen when others outside

of the USA raise the flag and say "hey check this out, this might help'.

One example. In Germany they use that special Vitamin B-1 thiamine called

Benfotiamine for treating alcoholic related nerve pain. A person in cyber

read the report and went to see their neurologist to ask about this.

What did the doctor say? "I never heard of benfotiamine, what is it ? " //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

There is so much data in cyberspace, there is no way I would have found

this otherwise.

Most of this stuff is no mystery to other cultures where they use alternative medicne, we just think it's crazy here in the USA as it's not talked about much.

Asian culture is all about herbs to fix problems. We say 'bah humbug, that doesn't work".

I can tell you one thing, if you have medical problems and have no relief,

I guarantee that people will try stuff even if it's a long shot.

Medicine is a cool field to get into. Job security anywhere, people will get sick

and need help.

I talked to the patient and redid the blood sugar charts and data. Prior to diet

pills ~ 3 weeks ago, the daily average blood score was in the 225 range.

Today, the 10 day moving average says 125. I goofed on the calculation.

So... it's a 100 point drop in blood scores, not 40 - 50 points that I originally thought,

amazing in just a few weeks. The big issue is getting the body to heal so there is no

pain, lowering the blood sugar is the first step of many.

Catch 22 -> diet pills are not cheap.

I'd rather take diet pills than poke a needle in my belly twice a day forever

and not to mention any other health benefits from diet pills you might get

as you grow old.
