Distrobution block started melting..Why?

Well starting about 3 weeks ago when I played my system heavy i smelt something funny. I turned my system off and couldn't find anything wrong. Well a few days later I disturbed the smell was coming from my distribution block. The metal part where the fuse connects the wire running to my sub amp was slowly melting.

Fastforward to today, it has melted even more. I have to wiggle around the metal where the fuse connects the wire for the sub amp for my amp to get power.

I have no idea what caused it to start doing this, and I have any distro block on the way.

i was just wondering if the distro block could have just possibly went bad, or what? About a year and a half ago I had the fuse holder under my hood just flat out melt.

I have no idea what causes this? Anyone?

Sounds like you are pulling so much current through the fuse and metal is it disapateing(sp?) heat and so much of it that the plastic is melting. We had a team mate at the shop the other day whose fuse started melting and the fuse black was melting off the plastic mounting backing while we were playing shit at full tilt. So if I was you I would try not to play it full tilt like that all the time unless you want to buy a bunch of distro blocks.

Arcing would be visible. I am still saying it's from too much current being pulled through it and it's just producing alot of heat like an amp would when it's being driven hard.

EDIT: There was no arcing or sparks on the guy's fuse holder at the shop and stuff was still melting. Also we have had a distro block start to smoke for the same reason when we were having some fun with a guy's subs. He wanted us to finish them off so a little Lil Jon + Covering up the port on the box + cranking the gain some = sub still hanging on for dear life but a fubared distroblock.
