I'm going to use a one-to-two distribution block as an example

A distribution block splits up one power wire into 2, so you can run two amps off of only one power line. If you get one make sure the one wire is big enough to handle two(or more) amps. The way it works is one power wire hooks into the distribution block, then you hook up two power wires from the other end to your amplifiers.

Right, the only reason you would need one is if you had more than one amp.
