hey im kinda new to the whole audio thing and was just wondering if i can use one distribution block, which has two 1 gauge inputs and four 4 gauge outputs, if I can use both power cable, going into one input and then distribuiting power out of two of the four outputs, and then use the other three for grounds? or should I get two blocks? Thanks if you can help me I appreiciate it, sorry if this has already been asked...

So you are wanting to put (two) 1/0 runs into (one) 1/0 input then use (two) 4awg outputs from that and use the other (three? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif ) for grounds?

Ground + Power on same distro = //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

What distro block do you have and what are you wanting to power?

not three, I was just wondering if pretty much power and ground in same block is good or not. But you said it's a no no...but I wanted to put two 1 gauge wires in the inputs (both 1 gauge inputs), and then have four 4 gauge outputs (2 power and 2 ground)

Are you wanting to use a distro block that is already setup for power and ground or just basic distro block. If the later then fuses will blow and fire will reign from the sky. Look at streetwires or soundstream( power plant) The power plant has 2 o guage inputs (1 for ground and 1 for power) it also has a turn on relay built in. Not the prettiest but very functional. I used one in my last install and it made wire management easier for my application.

thanks, it's a regular distro made by stinger. Thanks for ur help, I'll just use two different distros then, one for power and one for ground.

If you use the same hunk of metal and wire it to both power and ground you have just created a dead short on the power wire. You will get a huge spark, the main fuse will blow and no matter what you do you can't make it work.

There are setups (two of which are mentioned above) that have both power and ground distro on the same mounting piece, but the distro blocks themselves are separate pieces of metal mounted to the same plastic mounting plate.
