Distortion

I have some nice Boston Acoustics RX coaxials for both the front and rear. I also have a Kenwood Exceleon KDC-X459 head unit. I've noticed that at high volume (usually at around 30 on the head unit), at least the front speakers distort on certain songs. I've not had a chance to listen to the rear speakers, though. Does this sound like the head unit's amp clipping during times of high output or does it sound like the speakers can't handle the power I'm sending them?

Your first assessment is correct. I've never seen a speaker that cannot handle the true >15WRMS.

Which one would you guys recommend? I don't want to spend a ton, just want something to get me some clean power to those speakers.

it all depends on what they can handle as rms and peak wattage. i 've heard some boston speaker's just have no idea what they were or power handling. if you wanna spend a decent amount for a really good amp i'd get a jl 4 channel amp.

go look on ebay you can find some 4 channel amps on there for around 200 not gonna be top end amps so they might produce engine noise
