distorted sound

i bought a a pair of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBTOX:IT&item=350015908253&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI a few days ago and i got them today and put them in. they sound alot better than the pos roadmasters that i took out but when i crank them up pretty good they sound weird and its kinda hard to understand. my head unit is a pioneer deh 1500

the wire that comes out of it is about 1/16" around then i have it hooked to about 16 gauge could that be it? any help woud be great i have a pioneer deh-p2900mp head unit on the way do u think it will make it sound better

every sounds good if i turn it clear up until aby thibg vocal then the voices r just distorted

haha i was just wondering the same thing wen i read my own post...... i meant that every thing sounds good until u get to the vocal then the vocal is messed up
