Dissatisified with JL Audio Cleansweep

Hi everyone,

I have installed 4 Alpine Type S speakers and an Alpine MRP-f300 4 channel amp in my 2007 Camry. I want to keep the stock head unit, so I purchased a JL Audio Cleansweep (signal processor) to act as an interface between the OEM head unit and the amp.

Everything is installed, and properly grounded. I have found that the Cleansweep adds noise and muddies the sound a bit - so I want to swap it out. The MRP-f300 accepts line level input, and the system sounds fine going that route.

However, I want to be able to plug my iPod directly into the amp. The cleansweep offers an aux input, which bypasses the head unit.

Here's my question: Is there a better alternative to the cleansweep, or should I just install an input selector and a line out converter?

Thanks!

For sq, the MTX Re-Q impressed me actually. However, the bass signal produced by it was rather weak, so I went with the Audiocontrol LC oem integrators. Haven't looked back since.

The Cleansweep is supposed to be a pretty nice unit. When I first bought my car a few years back I bought an Audiocontrol EQx and it was really nice with good crossovers, eq, and line driver. I'd personally go with that over a Cleansweep.
