If this is stupid please excuse me but could it be that the sub is new and still stiff? I've always been told to properly break in my subs
In some cases the can be an issue, but not the extent that it is played out though. In this case, the enclosure tuning is to high for what the listener would like to hear.If this is stupid please excuse me but could it be that the sub is new and still stiff? H-14 - 12.5
I agree, with the except of one of the corners but I'm sure its all good. Rounded most of port edges too.Box appears to be built well though.
lulz.95saturn just text me saying the builder of the enclosure refuses to believe the enclosure is not correct.
well here are the deminisons: 24W x 14H x 18D and a 2" L port tuned at 32.5 hz
ok. i stuck a tape mesure down but their is a 45 there so the depth before the 45 is 15.5 and after the 45 is 17. the length of the port is 12.5 and 2" long
Since those dimensions are external and we are assuming 0.75" material thickness used throughout, the total internal size of the enclosure before the port is taken into consideration is 22.5Wx12.5Hx16.5D which gives you 2.68 ft^3 before port displacement. The port itself is 2" by 12.5" by 32.5" long by your measurements, which takes up 0.47 ft^3. The internal port wall takes up 0.12 ft^3 and the 45's are probably another 0.2 ft^3 which leaves you with right at 1.8 ft^3 tuned to 31 Hz. It's a small box tuned low that possesses an F3 of 25 Hz outside of your car...let alone when you throw in cabin gain. If that is the case your enclosure is the right size and is also tuned correctly...and it's actually tuned lower than the enclosures we have here at the shop. You should have zero problems with LFE. That's tuned lower than the 15" I have in my daily driver.Ok, upon further inspection of the build log here the port is only around 16-19" long at most.
This means there is around 2ft3 and tunes around 38hz or higher. This is just a rough idea as there is no way to know with out the exact port length.
