Disadvantages of buying used 05 XXX?

Is there a specific reason noone keeps the XXX for long?

I am considering purchasing one but I started thinking and realized it seems like they all need to be reconed pretty often and with RE basically being a different company now will I be SOL? Does the XXX have problems more than the other SQL subs?

Everyone is hyping the Fi Q but I havent seen them compared to the XXX, only the mag. I heard the low end on the Q was weak, how is the low end on the XXX?

Both have nice low end. I have no experience with the Q but from what I've been reading its anything but weak on the low end. Both would be good choices.

for bass low end:

Q > Mag > XXX

Just get a Q if your on a budget

i got an 18" Q in 9.3 net tuned to 28htz and it murders the lows

I had an 03 (same as 05, just not so shiny) 18 xxx, lows on it were unreal. That thing tortured my car.

I have the feeling that most people sell their XXX in the endless search for something louder. Alot of people on here are constantly changing setups. It doesn't mean that the xxx isn't a great driver.

a lot of the recones are caused by people that run their xxx w/ 2000+rms b/c their hear of "others" doing it, don't know how to set gains, or have them in properly designed boxes and just don't know what they're doing with that much power
