I recently purchased a used D2205 from a guy on
ebay. It was guaranteed to be in 100% working order. The only downfall of the amp was that it did not come with the remote bass control knob. I figured that was no big deal. I installed it (properly) into my Jeep, and hooked it up to my subwoofer (1 JL 10W3V2) I had to peg the gain on the sub to get it to even remotely push the sub. The mids, and highs seemed to perform fine.
My question is, do I need the Bass Knob in order to get full potential out of the sub channel? I've heard it varies from amp to amp. I'd really appreciate some info before I go and spend more money on a bass knob. Thanks in advance.
