Directed Audio 2400D > Hifonics BXi 1606D

Thanks for info, it's probably only gonna be at 1/4 gain since it will be pushing (2) 12" type R's. But some of those defects you talk about are probably not from stress, but from bad refurbish quality.
Of course it was from bad quality. I have heard of people describing very similar situations as myself with the DEI refurbs. If you plan on buying it, good luck.

When do you get the Opti2000d?
How did your 5 cubes at 34hz box fit in the nissan?

pics?
took me 15 minutes last night to get it in lmao.....ill have pics in a week or so when i get everything installed.

i ordered the opti yesterday, $340 shipped, GREAT deal

This seems like a great deal, doesn't it? I was gonna get a 1606d, but now that I've seen this deal I think I may get the 2400d instead.

What do you guys think?

Oh ya what does this do at 1 ohm?

THanks!
i have that same amp and it is not 1-ohm stable, but it is a very strong amp I`m powering 2 SI Mags with it and it makes my back window flex like crazy and I`m not running it at 3/4 power, I would buy that amp if I were you and be happy I am make sure the amp can breathe in an open space.

Thanks for your opinion on the 2400D I will deeply consider purchiasing this amp in the next few days.

Have you tested it at 4ohm? If I get it thats what I would have to run it at then since its not 1ohm stable. Should still work fine since its just gonna power a couple Type R's.

I have mines at 2-ohms,i have dual-2 ohm sub wired in series-parallel to give me a final 2-ohm load with each speaker getting about 1200 watts each...at 4-ohms the will produce 1400watts or more . These amps will do their rated-power and some..btw they are heavy too.

I have read that it wasnt a good idea to run them at 1ohm.
i think its the newer DEI amps that are rated for 1 ohm also.

YES! only the new 2400D is 1ohm stable but it only puts out 1200wrms.

the 2400D u guys see in the first post is NOT 1 ohm stable DONT EVEN TRY cuz u are gonna burn the amp is a very good amp but really OLD.If I was you l would rather go for something else.

the old 2400d was just 2 1200's internally strapped sharing a power supply and a case... you can acheive the same thing (almost) with the new D2400's...

edit: is the 2400d you're looking at being sold by jcthebestbuyerseller on ebay? if so, pay more attention to the pictures than his descriptions... he describes amps that look like they were dropped off cliffs as being an 8.1 cosmetically lol... i got one of my D2400's from him and it shipped VERY quickly, but looked worse than the picture and had some damage to one of the speaker terminals (albeit slight) that wasn't mentioned in the listing.
