Dimming headlights when bass hits when idle

I am finding that when idle i am getting dimming headlights when the bass note hits. i Have a 400 watt amp connected to a sub and a 600 watt amp connected to 6x9's. my car is a renault clio 2001 so only small alt. i was wondering what will be the best solution as im being told different things by different people? Bigger battery? Higher output alternator? Power cap? HELP!

Big 3 upgrade.

Search for the Big 3 mod and do that first.

Also, make sure your gains are set accordingly, as in theory a 1kW rms system should be fine off stock electrical.

Hopefully you aren't clipping the hell out of the system making it draw much more than it normally would.

Use at least 4 gauge cables. And yes, if done properly it will make a big difference.

Also, don't for one second think about using a capacitor..

My amps are 1000 watt max together not rms and they arent clipping they sound great just slight dimming headlights

Some vehicles have stock 4 awg wire in place. If your vehicle already has 4 awg, then 1/0 awg is the logical upgrade...

i dont understand why people say 4 gauge for the big 3.....it is better to use 0 gauge because you never know when your going to upgrade.....better to do it now and get it over with...

go here for 0 gauge...its not the best but its not the worst.
