Hello,

I think i have a problem with my cars electrical system somewhere....i don't have any of my amps connected at the moment. I am playing music from HU alone about 17rms X 4 which account for my interior speakers....could someone tell me how is it possible that my lights still dim when playing at peak levels from my HU (peak meaning 75-80 percent). What and where do i need to check. Thanks for your help in advance.

FYI

my batt reads around 12.6 went car is off & 14.2-6 when on.

depends on the car. Honda's have an ELD that turns off the alt when there isn't enough ignition load. the HU, even at full tilt, won't pull more than 10A.

what does the batt read when the lights dim?

some alts are just small, anything can cause them to drop. since you're talking dash lights, i assume this is at night with the headlights on?
