I currently have 3 15" avalanche subs, but haven't got a box built for them yet, and I've seen videos of Digital Design subs, and they look like they do some damage! can anyone give me their input on both SQ and SPL wise on experience they had with these subs. because from the look's of them, i might want to switch subs. thanks

You bought 3 Avalanches, and before they are even hooked up you are ready to switch subs totally, merely by watching some videos? You are every marketing person's dream come true, the ultimate easy sale. lol

While DD is venturing into the SQ end of things, they have traditionally made their name in the SPL lanes. An avalanche is a completely different animal. If you are asking how a 9500 and an Avalanche compare, they dont, not really. 9500 would blow it away in output, but the Avalanche would have superior SQ (given the proper circumstances). The 3500, and their new ultra-expensive SQ driver would be a better comparison, but they (or at least the 3500) wouldn't necesarily be an upgrade. In some opinions yes, in some no. Is it worth the cash to find out to you?

What's the intention of this system?

What made you chose Ava's in the first place? Have you even heard them yet?

Are you made of money?

Ahaha, i love this

despite what people may post, DD 95 series do have accurate sound reproduction. They just happen to get loud. I've run DD's for a few years now.

No experience with the AA's, but since you already have them, I'd go ahead with that build. DD's are expensive.

Yes, that's why you see so many SQ guys running 9500's. C'mon man, its not downing 9500's to admit while they are awesome at SPL, they are not a SQ driver. Sure you can make them sound good, but make them sound great? Good luck with that. But then again, most people today seem to think MT's and BTL's sound great too.

Not me. The only MT and BTL builds I've heard were for competition and didn't like the low notes.

SQ is now about the name as much as the sound. I think my current 9917 sounds great. I thought my 2 9515's w/2 6"aero's sounded great. It's almost the same as saying all pit-bulls are attack dogs...it in the application.

I've heard good subs in the wrong enclosure and I've heard 'crappy' subs in the correct enclosure. In a blind test, I'd pick the sub in it's proper enclosure. Of course I'd try to buy the good sub that was in a crappy box for cheap.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I run (4) AA Avalanche 15's in my HT, and I have had them in my vehicle. They are low end monsters and sound great.

Give them a shot before you go buy something else.

i have a 12" but i couldnt be happier with my AVA //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i've heard a 9500 and i thought it's SQ wasnt up to par of a AVA but it wasn't that far behind.

i bought these subs because i heard they have good low end and superb SQ. Also i heard they give high output. And thats what im aiming for in my setup (low end,SQ,High Output). I have powered one in a HT 7 cu ft sealed enlcousre with less than 100 watts and it was producing the best quality i ever heard. but i have not bought a amp nor enclosure yet to hear the real results of all 3. money is not an issue considering i am not in a rush to finish my project, I'm saving up and getting everything one by one. And then i heard 9500's have good SQ and SPL and i saw a video of 1 sub making the roof flex like crazy vs two AVA's doing hair tricks, but with a more advanced enclosure building. i wonder could 3 ava's ported do hair tricks?
