different sounds from different sizes??

is there much difference b/w difference sizes of door speakers. for instance i have 2 6 1/2s and two 6x9s and have been thinking about putting another set of speakers like 5 1/4s or 3s. would it give me better sound to have variety of sizes or does it really matter?

It depends on how you set them up.

If you were thinking about running a true 3-way setup (6.5" midbass, 3" midrange and a tweeter, for example)....then yes, there are specific reasons to purchase the different size speakers.

If you are wanting to add a set of co-axials to an already existing set of coaxials (such as those in the doors might be)......then acoustically it wouldn't really be a wise decision to add more speakers.
