Differences in fuses?

I've currently got like a 20a or 40a fuse that came with my Knu wiring kit, but I'm lookin to upgrade it. ( Cuz I think i messed something up )

Was in the parkin lot before school started ( was early, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ) and I was messin witht he 20hz -100hz or w/e it is Sine Sweep from ROE. I'd say it was at about 40-50hz when my amp just turned off, didn't go into protect, just turned off. I turned my car off, turned it back on, and then the power light was on, so I thought i was good. 3 Hours lateri went out to my car, turned it on, amp turned on and eveything. Then about 45 seconds into ym drive. my amp turned off again, and it stayed off until I went home, unplugged the wires, looked @ the inline fuse under my hood, reconnected everything. Now it all works?

My setup is in my sig.

Whats the difference between ANL and AGU?

I guess waht it comes down to is

I don't know, I don't think my fuse is actually blown.

Could it have been that my power wire wasnt big enough? I got 4g power wire, 14g from amp - 1 sub, then 12g to the other sub.

Meh I dont know, I'll see if it does it again on the way to work tomorrow.

If your fuse was blown then your amps wouldnt have power at all. Ive had my amps turn off before but it was just the power wire coming out of the fuse holder cause the dood at CC messed it up in the beginning but I fixed it.

Lol, I installed everything myself, basically, had Joseph aka Magick Man help, a bit? All the wiring was done by me, he just lifted the box into my trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

mmm, sure it wouldnt hurt getting a bigger fuse anyway

Voltage drop maybe? I would try getting a bigger fuse
x2, even a 40a fuse seems way to small for the setup ur running, usually the amp should have fuses on it, or it'll say what amp ur fuse should be at for an external fuse.

"4x 40 Amp Internal Fuses"

got that off sundown website, so ur fuse should be at least 100 amps. ANL and AGU are just different types of fuses that can hold different capacities, the ANL can go up to 300a, which the AGU only goes up to 150a? I dont remeber exacally.

But yeah also might be voltage drops, most Toyota cars dont have a big alternator.

i don't see anything wrong with picking up a 0ga kit if you have a little extra cash.

since you already have rca's and remote wire ran the kicker kit wouldn't be bad. I just got mine yesterday and ran it in my buick, great stuff to work with. the 4ga that game in my kit made me laugh in comparasion.

Yeah, ima prolly just pick up some 0g wire, do the big 3, and then run the rest from m my batt to the amp.

So voltage drops eh? I'ma be getting a yellowtop here in a bit, but fuses are relativly cheap, so why not?

Any dissadvantage for getting say a 300a fuse? I plan on upgrading to a SAZ 100-2 and Some rainbow profi's around december. ( yes im deadening my doors and whatever else I can )

the fuse is there to blow so your equipment don't get messed up, too big of a fuse can mess up your equipment, better to underfuse and be out a fuse then to overfuse and be out ur equipment.....at least i think so????

Do NOT get a 300 a fuse . WTF???

You need a fuse that is rated coerectly for your systems total draw. If not you might as well just run straight wire without a fuse.

Add up the fuses tha are on your amp/s. If your amp has 2 50 a fuses, then use a 100a at the battery.

the fuse up front fuses the wire from burning not the amps, 0 ga usually has about 250-300a on it, 4 ga maybe around 100a or so

you amps should have fusing for theirselves, if not do an external fuse right before the amp
