Xcon leans towards the SQ side a bit more even though both sound beautiful. I wouldnt care too much though. The Zcon's sound quality would please anyone given the proper enclosure and power. I'd go between the optimal and recommended box specs depending on power. The smaller the box, the more upper notes it reaches but it'll need more power to compensate. While larger box will have a bigger peak in tuning frequency. I had decent luck with my zcon 12 in 3.25 cubic feet tuned to 33hz with 52 sq inches of port area. Not heavy hitting on rock but it still played up there pretty well and it reached LOOOOW even on a cheap overrated hifonics brutus amp Definitely could take a lot more power than a brx 2400. I'd give it a 3500 rms amp and it should reach full potential with headroom on gains. Are they both sql oriented subs?
as long as the box is proper enough, it should still be pretty good. It flexed the windshield of my corolla with just a brx 2400, after rise would be like several hundred rms.How would the zcon sound underpowered, maybe 1200rms? It won't be for long because I still want the dsp3000
That brx probably still pushes more than mineas long as the box is proper enough, it should still be pretty good. It flexed the windshield of my corolla with just a brx 2400, after rise would be like several hundred rms.
My hdc3 18s were hella tight, plays metal double bass pedals clean. Then again, i'm in an open cabin car and my head unit has time alignment. Might want to wall off your trunk and rethink the box design before switching off stuff. No i'm pretty sure a twisted sounds amp pushes more than a brx. Never realized how sh*tty chinese pcb boards are until you experience real korean boards.I'm leaning towards the zcon, hoping the bass is going to be tighter than the SQ sub I have
The xcon probably would be better especially with what I'll be powering it with.As stated above, the sound quality of both subs are great. But, if sound quality is your primary goal, lean towards the Xcon. It is more so meant for the SQ side of things, where as the Zcon is meant more for the SPL competition side of things.
Sounds like a great plan. The xcon probably would be better especially with what I'll be powering it with.
