Difference between Directed Audio 1500D and 1100D?

Hey all, does anyone know the difference between these two amps? I am trying to decide which to order from ikesound. Both have the same 90 day warranty and the same power ratings...

I want to know the same thing. I almost have no chioce to get a refurbished amp now since my plans have been changed. I had a refurb Viper 1200.1 but it only worked once but I'm sure it was my fault. Before the amp was installed the little battery connector that came with my wiring kit had touched the batter connector on the amp which made the amp spark but nothing was even connected. Once I did install the amp it played fine the first time but it was very hot and everytime I tried to turn it on after that it would blow the fuse under the hood. I'm thinking about getting a Directed 1100 or 1500d but I don't want a repeat of my Viper. Now I don't know if I should get the refurbished Directed or just wait a while and get a new amp.

Will the amp be reliable? I don't know if my Viper was a freak accident or not but I don't want to waste any money.

I have the Directed 1500D. I think that the 1100D and the 1500D are pretty much the same amp, just different years. The 1500D is newer. I've had mine for almost 2 years. I run it on a daily basis and it has gone into protection once since I've had it and that was when I was driving 6 hours with a .67-ohm load. I ran it for over a year with that .67-ohm load. I was running 3 Kicker CompVR dual 4-ohm 12's. Now I't pushing some Treo SSi 12.44's. But I have no complaint about it whatsoever.

i had a directed 1500d amp in my car for about 3 or 4 months at .5ohms on my pbx and never went into protect or got too warm

I would make sure they have it in stock before you order. Call them or something, the website is not always up to date. I've heard many horror stories about them selling an amp and charging the card but not have it in stock.

I was worried when I ordered mine but I've been running my Directed 1100D for about a month now and no problem at all
