Difference between DEH-P7800MP & DEH-P780MP?

The both have the same color display.

Jacka, I noticed the 1 vs 2 year warranty, but I didn't think that could be the only possible difference. Also, it looks like the 780 is labeled "Premier" but the 7800 isn't.

Thanks guys.

It's true, there is no difference.

Pioneer owns premier, but the way it works is that often lower end stores will sell the premier models, and pioneer models are sold at higher end stores like tweeter.

It's a name thing, really

the face plate of the 780 will work on the 7800, and vice versa

same for other models like the 7600 and 760

even the 6600 and 660 can be interchanged b/w the 7600/760/6600/660

The only difference present is warranty, which you only get for paying full price at a store rather than saving 200 bucks and going online..

Some of the premiers are different than the pioneers. you just have to go to the pioneer website and look at the specs. for example; the 680mp has 4v preouts, and the 6800mp has 2v.

I checked the specs on both units. They're identical besides the warranty, and the 780 says "PREMIER" on the face. I can get the 7800 from Cardomain for $284 (price matched) and it's 100% authorized. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

I'm thinking of just going with that.

Not really sure where you got your info but most of it is false. I'll list them for you.

1 - Pioneer doesn't OWN Premier, they ARE Premier. As in one company.

2 - You have it backwards, the lower end stores will carry the Pioneer line. And the higher end or brick and mortar stores will carry Premier. Premier is HIGH end of Pioneer car audio. Just like ELITE is the high end of their home gear.

3 - Another example where they aren't really the same is like the difference between my 860 and the 8600. The 860 not only has higher line voltage and bigger warranty. The 860 also had Network mode and standard mode. The 8600 only has standard mode. That, to me is a pretty big difference.

I've never tried a 8600 faceplate on my 860 so I couldn't agree or disagree that they're interchangeable. My guess is that they are.

The only difference present is warranty, which you only get for paying full price at a store rather than saving 200 bucks and going online..
The preout voltage is higher on Premier models. And the warranty is 2 years vs just one year on NON Premier models. If someone wants to save money by buying over the internet then they better make damn sure the online store is authorized or they can kiss ANY warranty goodbye.

Pioneer is Premier yeah, but they still own the name, hence why I said that.

As for the store thing, well it seems to be different here, because walmart carries the premier here in newington ct, and the tweeter and best buy carry the premier *Shrug* so i dunno what to say on that one, maybe our stores are retarded lol

yeah the voltage is different, and for some reason all of them seem to be gearing toward 2.2 volts

I mean of course there's going to be little things like on your 8600 and 860, but for the 7800 and 780 there isn't a difference for that, it's mainly the warranty

I think your stores are retarted. Walmart dot com mentions nothing about Premier. Best Buy is a chain store and only carry Pioneer. What also has me shaking my head is that if the Premier line isn't the better line then why was the DEH-P880PRS only made for the Premier line. I mean the PRS in alot of their best amps, speakers, subs and decks stands for "PREMIER REFERENCE SERIES". Not only that the P9 combo is a Premier unit. Is tweeter a chain store out there?? If so then it explains why only Pioneer units. I just can't believe Walmart would have ANYTHING Premier.

As far as voltage goes: Actually either Pioneer or Premier headunits go down to 2.2 volts until you get to the 390/3900. Anything above those are 4 or 5 volts.
