These units look pretty much the same. Does anyone know whats different about them? Thanks.
Not really sure where you got your info but most of it is false. I'll list them for you. It's true, there is no difference.Pioneer owns premier, but the way it works is that often lower end stores will sell the premier models, and pioneer models are sold at higher end stores like tweeter.
It's a name thing, really
the face plate of the 780 will work on the 7800, and vice versa
same for other models like the 7600 and 760
even the 6600 and 660 can be interchanged b/w the 7600/760/6600/660
The preout voltage is higher on Premier models. And the warranty is 2 years vs just one year on NON Premier models. If someone wants to save money by buying over the internet then they better make damn sure the online store is authorized or they can kiss ANY warranty goodbye. The only difference present is warranty, which you only get for paying full price at a store rather than saving 200 bucks and going online..
I think your stores are retarted. Walmart dot com mentions nothing about Premier. Best Buy is a chain store and only carry Pioneer. What also has me shaking my head is that if the Premier line isn't the better line then why was the DEH-P880PRS only made for the Premier line. I mean the PRS in alot of their best amps, speakers, subs and decks stands for "PREMIER REFERENCE SERIES". Not only that the P9 combo is a Premier unit. Is tweeter a chain store out there?? If so then it explains why only Pioneer units. I just can't believe Walmart would have ANYTHING Premier. As for the store thing, well it seems to be different here, because walmart carries the premier here in newington ct, and the tweeter and best buy carry the premier *Shrug* so i dunno what to say on that one, maybe our stores are retarded lolyeah the voltage is different, and for some reason all of them seem to be gearing toward 2.2 volts
