Difference between 2 ohm Type Rs and 4 ohm Type Rs?

I'm planning on getting 2 Alpine Type R 12". Which is better to get? 2 ohm or 4 ohm?

I'm running them of the Hifonics BXi1206 amp.

Get dual 4 ohm. You can wire them down to 1 ohm to get max power out of that amp.

u will nto notice a diference between impendance giving same power to each sub.... try to get dual 4 ohms so u can wire at 1 ohm in parallel with ur 2 type rs

I'd get a bigger amp than that Hifonics for 2 Type Rs. Push about 750 apice to them. Sundown SAZ-1500D anyone??

considered just one type r??? With that amount of power you may want to consider this... in that case get a dual 2 ohm and wire in parallel to get 1 ohm. could get a 15 type r if only 1.

It would be passable. But if you insist on going with that amp, I'd go with a single 15 with dual-2 ohm coils. Type-Rs will take 1000w all day long. If yo really want 2 subs, I suggest getting something that will do an honest 1500-2000w at 1 ohm.

Also, what's the difference between running 2 2ohms or 2 4ohms on a BXi 2006D? Is it only a difference in wiring but it has the same power?
