diff between JL 500/1 vs JL 500/1v2??

As far as I know the specs of the actual amp itself is identical. I think all they did was re-design the case a little to make the amps stackable. the 500/1 (reguar or V2) would be perfect for that 10W7.

The Heat sinks have also been redone. The Slash v/2 amps dissapate 50% more heat than the originals. (Not that the originals had a heat problem. They already were very thermally efficient. These are more so.)

The real thing IMO that sets apart JL's amps from every other out there is their R.I.P.S. No inflated power ratings given at 14.4 v, and no differences in output depending on Ohm's or voltage drops. True, clean continous power from 1.5-8 ohms, and 11-14v.

Thanks for the additional info. yeah I've come to really love JL stuff, I have 2 cars, a BMW M3 and that has a 500/1 and 2 10W6V2s in a ported box and my Escalade I am going to be putting a 1000/1 and a 13W7 in a ported box...now that should rumble ;-)

It sure as hell should. I had a 500/1 on two 12W3v2's....it slammed. And sounded great to boot.

Next install is happening in Dec. 500/1v2 going on a 13w6. Can't wait //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Nice! I have the same setup going in this winter/spring. Are you planning a sealed or ported enclosure?

Ported. By all accounts and reviews I've read, the Ported enclosure won't affect the much of linearity and overall SQ of the magnificence that is the W6, but will make it tad louder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
