actually they sometimes used tham in tv's and stuff
on another note every tire manufacturer has to pay Goodyear 10% if they want to use round tires cause they have a pat. on them. Square tires however are ok.

i use rectangle tires, they get better mileage than square ones..

It's actually nothing to do with the shape. The patent has to do with the vulcanizing process used to make the tire that Mr. Goodyear developed way back in the day. Bonding rubber to other materials and such is kinda important if you want to make a tire worth using.
