I'd just run it how ever you intended to in the first place. Not like you'll be losing a whole lot of money if it does die.I think it will last a little while. Plus i'm not gonna be pushing it seriously hard. Which box would make it last longer sealed or ported or would that matter?

this one read 3.5 , but the cheap meter reads .3 when i touch the leads together so i'm gonna say its about 3.2 ohms restnothing you can do its a spider problem recone is the only fix.on a soft spider shipping pushing on the surrond can damage it but if its a old sub i would say age did it.
did you touch the leads together and subtract the impedence from the dmm leads might be resting even lower. a normal dvc4 sub dosent rest perfectly at 4ohm per coil. most will be 3.5-4.0...
