Did my Sundown fry my H/U!??

I dont know why the hate on all the Pioneer decks. I have had every deck imaginable or so it seems and I have had well over 5 Pioneer decks and none of them gave me a problem or had pre volt-out issues. I currently have a 880prs and I get a little faint eng noise, nothing too bad. Everybody has their likes and dislikes. Hell I read a thread not too long ago as what was the best deck around and Pioneers where owning that thread. Strange.

I've owned Alpine and JVC decks myself... neither of which ever gave me any troubles. The JVC Kameleon deck is still in service in my mother's minivan and the Alpine 9813 is still in service in my old Firebird which I sold to my cousin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I just installed an old JVC deck that I took out of my Civic into my girlfriends car to replace her 1997 vintage Pioneer deck which somehow is filled with coins... and put a new JVC KD-AR8500 in the Civic.
I owned a JVC Aresenal head unit and it sucked, CRAZY engine whine and at high volumes it would freeze! Not sure how the newer models are though, good from what you're saying.
I love my Pioneer P880PRS and haven't had many problems with it...

Looking at your other thread it seems like you had some sort of intermittant problem with your setup before. Perhaps it was a flakey input signal from the HU causing the amp to go into protection before? A short in the HU throwing way too much input to the 1500D could have possibly damaged it as I previously stated above.
I dont know...I think the amp was going into protect because of the load.....then after a while it stopped getting protection happy.

I don't hop on bandwagons fyi

I just sold my Clarion In-Dash too. Oh well, I was expecting the 1500D to last a little longer, we will see if it was amp failure or not.
Some folks do. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But honestly I'm sure .35 wasn't the best thing for that amp. My brother is running two Sundowns on a Destroyer and soon to be running two on a BTL he also has a Pioneer 880 headunit and it works flawlessly. It makes me want to sell my Alpine because it sounds like crap compaired to that Pioneer. My point being, there are too many unknown factors here to judge if it was the Amp, headunit, power, or a combination of all of the factors and a bit of luck.... But time will tell....
