Did my amp just bite the dust

I gotta Pioneer GM6300F. Was playing my music pretty loud, started to notice some distortion/cutting out, so i turned it down immediately and then no sound. I look at my amp and the light is flashing rather than being solid. a day later tried my radio again and it worked for about 3 min and died again. so today i unplugged everything except the power, ground and amp turn on wire and it still flashes, so im wonder did i blow it, drain out the capacitors in the amp or something like that. Im an engineering major and may end up opening the case and probe around but wanted to ask for more simple things to check first. I am showing 12.5V at the amp when the amp is off 8.5V when the amp is off. So i thought maybe ground was the problem so i used my subs amp ground wire for my trouble amp. Same result.

no its my speaker amp 4ch. I thought that i may have a ground issue so i took the ground from my sub amp and used it on this amp so that i can verify that my ground was good. I can get pics but the amp is not in the car at the moment. I know the wiring is good ive had it wired the same way for the past 2 years. So i strongly doubt that its my wiring. And like i said i unplugged every thing but the power ground and turn on wire, and the protect light is still flashing.
