Did I Wire My Subs Right??

Ok I just put in my system and I was wondering if I wired my subs correctly.

I have 2 12" MTX Thunder 8500 with an MTX 801D Amp Pushing them. The subs are 4 ohms SVC

Here is how I wired them.

Sub 1 + to Sub 2 + to AMP

Sub 1 - to Sub 2 - to AMP

Is this the correct way. I mean its loud and sounds great but im not sure if this is the best way to connect them.

THanks

Domenick

the lower the impedence (lower ohm number) the more power can be provided by the amp to the subs due to lowered resistance...so hypothetically it is better to have it at 2 ohms...

Your amp is a class D amp that is designed to be run at 2ohms, you don't need to worry about changing anything.

Some amps are designed to work best at certain ohm loads, so there is no best ohm load, just the one that works best with the amplifier.

Example-

Common home stereo

6 to 8 ohms

Class a/b car amplfier

2 to 4ohms stereo/ 4 to 8ohms mono

Class d/ monoblock car amplifier

1 to 2 ohms depending on manufacturers spec.
