Did I screw up?

I purchase a used Kenwood KAC-7201 amp. 800 watts max pwr. I will be using it with 2 RF Punch 2's. 250 watts rms. I was told I could use 8 ga power wire. So I spent $30 for a 8 ga amp kit. With the 8 ga kit comes 18 ga speaker wires.

Since the amp was used it did not have a manual so I just googled the amp and it recommends 4 ga wire. Also googled the speakers and I think it says to use 14 ga. Am I going to have a problem using the 8ga kit with the 18 ga speaker wires.

Also the amp has 2 30 amp fuses on the back. When I got the amp kit it came with a 40 amp fuse but the guy changed it to a 80 amp fuse.

800 watts max? That's only a 400-500 watt amp, 8ga should probably be okay.
Right, its 800w max. The rest of the specs are 150 rms x2 @ 4ohms, 230rms x2 @ 2ohms, and 460rms x 1 bridged @ 4ohms.

I will be doing the 460rms bridged.

So you think the 8ga will be ok to use.

you will be ok with the speaker wire

18ga can handle a decent amount of current

the 8ga is kinda your call

Id take it out and run 4 ga just to be safe

You will be ok running the 8ga but id replace it

Its kinda like buying a double cheese burger when you got money for a big mac

terrible analogy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I cant return the kit because I have already ran the wire and used some of the terminals. I have not hooked the subs up yet, will probably do that Wednesday.
