Did I order the correct sub?

Last night I ordered a 10" Alpine Type R, that I will be using my JL J2 500.1 amp to power. The amp says on the box 500w rms@ 2 ohm and 340w rms @ 4 ohm. So obviously I want to power the sub at 2 ohm. I Ordered a 2ohm sub but after reading more I realized that the sub has dual voice coils and I think I should have ordered a 4 ohm sub to get the 500w. I got the 2 ohm sub, so does that mean it wont work or I wont be able to get 500w rms?

Sadly you did mess up by ordering that dual 2 sub. Depending on where you bought it you might be able to return it to switch the vc config.

contact them. they might not have shipped it yet

thanks guys. i emailed them and they were able to switch me to the 4ohm type R!!
