Did I Fry My Amp III: The Omega

Well, I went back to the store who installed my stuff and they checked out the amp, the connections, the subs, and the wiring.

The concensus was that the problem was with the amp as everything else checked out.

The amp running my components is working fine, so the main ground wire has to be ok as does the main power line and the distribution block. The only possibility we could come up with is that the amp simply went kaput and it is time for a new one.

I have an old 2 channel amp that I am thinking about hooking up to the subs just to test to make sure that it works ok, but other than that, I am out of ideas.

Anybody have any final thoughts on the issue?

did this place do the install?

my consensus is if they set up everything (including gains, etc), they owe you a new toy.

I agree wholeheartedly.

The problem is, the install was done with my equipment and my wires, none of which was purchased from the store who installed it.

As a result, they will only warranty the install itself, which to me honestly looks fine.

There is an extra added bonus of the fact that the people deciding whether the install was done correctly was the actual installer and his boss, who of course are going to tell me that the install was not the cause of the problem.

What I really need is an outside opinion from someone who can take a look at it and determine whether the wiring was the cause of the blown amp or whether the amp itself just crapped out.

the gain seems to be set at about the middle. I was concerned about that as well, but it seems ok. I wish I knew more about amps and what causes them to blow. I am trying to figure out what to do next.
