well i got my re12's the other day. so i, being the impatient person i am, decided to hook one up to my ap400 that runs my comps. and nothing happened?? but then i hooked it up to my HU and it produced some sounds...why wouldnt it play off of the amp? i folled the wiring diagram stickied at the wiriing forum and hooked it to 8 ohms then 2 ohms.

could be your amp is set way higher than the frequency response of the woofer...check that one out

Don't turn it up too loud.....in free air, subs don't need much power at all to fully excurt. Also, don't expect them too sound especially spectacular......

i hooked it up right this time and it didnt sound loud at all is that because its not in a box?
