Just purchased rf t1000 4 new for my comp sets. In the front I have eclipse sc8365 and the rear jl xr series 6.5 comps. I had an alphasonik pma4150 that was replaced. The shop that is going to do my install said they dont think the comps I have will be able to take the power, any thoughts? The amps birthsheet says 203watts at 4 ohm per channel.

No. You cannot ever have too much power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/silly.gif.3549b64aaa5b6729eb8e865319a3234f.gif

As long as you dial the gain back and don't try to run the amp at full capacity you just gave yourself a pat on the back in advanced. You made plenty of headroom for NICE High-Power upgrades in the future //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Well they are telling me it doesnt matter about the gain im still gonna be throwing too much juice to it so I figured I would just buy another set which I did from a member on here and just add more to the mix. I needed more front stage anyway but now dropping the into 2 ohm it puts out 358. So I dont know

what? do yourself a favor and stop listening to what the dumbass shop is telling you. the gain knob is there for a reason.

for reference I have an amp on my left mid, an amp for my right mid and an amp on my tweeters. each mid has 650 watts on tap and my tweeters each have 175 watts on tap. I did this just for the headroom. I will never ever see that much power

Thanks guys for the input. They want me to buy a little 2 channel to run the mids and tweets on and then JUST run the 6.5s off the big amp without the crossover. I still dont understand that bit I see the $$$$ amount will go up for the install. Just for the record I didnt buy my amps from this shop got them online so that could have something to do with it. Trying to find other ways to make up for the money I didnt spend with them

Volume Knob = Wattage

Direct correlation between the volume knob and wattage output. Obviously when the volume is low the speakers won't be getting the amp's full power...You adjust the gains on the mids/highs amp and the sub amp to coincide where both start to clip at the same level then turn it down and tweak them from there..

The people at that shop are trained to prey on everyone they can and I bet they make a killing doing so, most people would never dream of actually doing research for a $1,000 purchase lol..

The only reason i cant do it myself is cuz im having my doors done and my rear re-done to fit my new amps, vinyl plexi custom amp racks. Thats definately outta my league. I do basics putting in, wirimg up, adjusting. When you talk about wrapping, cutting molding, thats too much for me and especially with this car. Its my weekend car for shows so i have to have everything looking perfect. My daily beater i dont care about hell i put everything in that myself a total of 16 speakers in all off of 2 amps and its been running fine 4 alot of years. If i knew how to post pics i would post some
