you have an suv. he has an angled hatch. subs up port back for spl are thee bomb. been proven. but lately i have had some locals that i did a box for (1999 integra) subs up port up subs were up and close to the driver. port was in the rearest part (slot) facing upwards. its still under construction right now mut so far its doing very nice. we should have it at finals this year.subs up port back. every hatch including my own hits higher that way unless your running aero. with that set up, i think you should be hitting a little higher than what you were tbh.
Thing is, my box was actually built for a 2000's tiburon with subs up port back. I made some adjustments to the port when I put it in my truck. That box was hitting 147-149 on music in that tiburon.you have an suv. he has an angled hatch. subs up port back for spl are thee bomb. been proven. but lately i have had some locals that i did a box for (1999 integra) subs up port up subs were up and close to the driver. port was in the rearest part (slot) facing upwards. its still under construction right now mut so far its doing very nice. we should have it at finals this year.
tiburon has less angle on the glass. it takes alot to know what is better for what car/person im just voicing what ive been doing. the sub up port back is getting oldThing is, my box was actually built for a 2000's tiburon with subs up port back. ok u have 2 choices here u could build the box sub up port up and fire off the glass as stated above or i have seen a so to speak wall behind the rear seats and the subs and port firing forward. either setup in bassboxing will put u in featherwieght class. however when it comes to idbl doing the sub up port up box will put u in stock hatch but doin the half wall (so to speak) it will put u in stock pro. if i can make a suggestion on the sub up port up box i would try a port plug with different size and lengths aero ports and i would test the lengths and get them close to the hatch that way u build some sick compression because that is a long way to the meter!!!So question will I see better number with my port and subs facing forward? Plus the fact that I'll be running around 5000watts lol
Also does anyone know what class I'd be in for idbl and bass boxing? Here's my setup
stock batt upfront and a batcap 4000 in the back, Mid/ highs amp and subamp, then seats folded down with 1 12" subwoofer for now. Soon to be 2 there's a comp on Sunday I'm thinking about going to but don't want to enter if Ill be crushed hahaha
ok so it looks like ull be running stock hatch in IDBL and still featherweight bassboxing!!! i would recommend eventually run another run of 1/0 and since that car is a unibody i would probably do a neg run. i would test with aero ports and u would need to make a port plug cuz ur gonna wanna have a pretty high freq for burp (mid 50's) and then ur regular freq for bass boxing. Just giving u some ideasWhoa lots of comments. Ok to start since this is the once that stuck out most I only have one run of 0 gauge to my rear. A wall isn't really an option for me I don't exactly have room in my rear hatch to work with I take my TTops down a lot which is why I chose the back seats. And this Is on music still I haven't tried a burp I don't know what frequency to use yet
