diamond subs

The Audio Enhancer enclosures are made to Diamond's specifications. They are great boxes if you want to spend the $$$ and don't have the time/resources to make your own.

i went to a shop yesterday to test a diamond sub. he didnt have one set up in his shop so he took me out to his car. he had a 12" D6 in a custom ported box. It was loud as fvck but it sounded like absolute piss. im hoping it was just due to the tuning but the sub seriously missed a ton of notes. he sounded pretty proud of it but i was really trying to hide the fact i was unimpressed. i asked him how it sounded sealed and he told me that Diamond recommends against sealed boxes because they are easy to burn up when sealed...dunno how true that is.

mine kept up with all notes but on certain songs it had an unnatural "thud" that i found my type E, mag, and cvx dont have. i think it could be a aluminum cone thing? made almost an echo. that was the d6.

D9 vs a D6 is no comparison when ported,D9s PWN and IMO

are the only drivers thing they still make good.......

A D9 with a D61500.1 in that AE box will kick ***,I run one like that but with an eD amp instead - I love it

I had the 1500.1 for a while,great amp,and I have had 2 D9s with an Orion 2500D which was ok,but they were sealed

and I hate sealed subs in a car

I have my D6 Sealed in a 1.1 net cu ft enclosure and I am giving it 1100 watts daily. Diamond says max power handling is 600 watts rms but it handles it like a champ. They recommend either sealed or ported enclosures.

Diamond makes very musical subs that have the ability to get loud. If they sound like *** its due to the install, period. (consequently, that is true of most any sub, not just Diamonds)

The "echo" of an aluminum cone would only show up at frequencies way past the normal crossover points for a sub.

Instead of speculating and spreading misinformation, why don't you go to Diamond's website and get the info from them? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

I wasn't providing just speculation and "misinformation" you dolt. I was giving my opinion that I came to after my observation which is usually a helpful thing to do on this forum. I know that the Diamond website gives the recommended sealed enclosure size for the D6 but the information I received was from an official Diamond dealer who probably has alot more experience dealing with the company than you would.

If he was a Diamond dealer than I apologize. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I figured if his setup sounded horrible then he must have no idea what he is talking about. I have heard some setups at my Diamond dealer back home that were amazing and totally sold me on them. I have been using them in my systems for almost 8 years now.

That is the first time I have ever heard that a sub is more likely to burn up in a sealed enclosure. As a rule of thumb, a sealed enclosure is going to increase power handling over a ported one.

i dont know much about the d9s, but i have 2 d6s which sound pretty darn good. some people say the d6s and d9s are like nite and day. i say if u put 1500 watts on a d9 or two d6s u will be happy.
