Diamond D3 amp question

Local dealer says the 600.1 and the new 800.1 model are the same internally, just different heatsinks and ratings. was the 600.1 that underrated or is diamond overrating the 800.1 or is just a beefier amp?

Its a different amp as far as I'm aware.

The D3 600.1 was the only choice they had to offer customers to power the new D1 subs in the low line. The combo however slams, just about perfect. But they are afraid of those that'll blow them- I believe it will be gone and a 400.1 will be released.

The 800.1 is the more juicy option to power the D3 line subs, which considerably now have much higher power handling and a deuce of them wouldnt be optimally powered by a 600.1-the most powerful option they had in the line. The 800.1 was needed to fill that void.
