I'm wondering if these amps usually have issues?

For awhile my sub would work on and off, it would work if I kept the volume at mid levels (18-20ish out of 30). If I played it around 22-24 it would shut off after a few mins of use.

Well last week it quit working. I just figured the sub blew, an Alpine Type R off of that much power how long could it last? However I decided to check all the wiring too, I found that the remote wire got damaged somewhere so I replaced it, hooked it all back up and still nothing. So the other day I ordered a new sub (DA TDX) and my friend gave me another Type R to borrow till it arrives. I put the new sub in today and yet again... nothing.

The amp is not in protect mode, the ground is good, it's getting power and the RCA's are fine. I'm taking it that the amp took a crap on me? So do these amps usually have any common problems? If so I'm undecided if I should get it fixed or get a different amp. Money is tight right now as well, also I don't know if Diamond Audio is still in Az. If it is I can take it down to them to have them fix it.

i Have a Diamond amp D3 and i LOVE it, just have had it running for about a day though so i hope these dont have problems but so far so goon on my behalf!!

Alright, can it be fixed? Even if it can should I just say f-it and get something else? If so it looks like I'm just going with a Hifonics BXI 1610D or something cheap like it.
