Diamond Audio 1200.1 on a IDMAX 12?

Would I risk blowing a IDMAX 12 using a Diamond audio 1200.1? What sub(s) do you recommend for this amp to get very nice SQ and SPL without breaking the bank?

If you were conservative with the gain, you would be fine.

I was planning on using a single 12d2 ran at 1 ohm in a 72 mustang.

real be conservative, since the amp is regulated ur going to get that 1200 from 11v on up. Of course you're not actually going to be running 1200watts into it at normal levels, but it's all relative. Keep the gain down and live the dream!

great amp and underrated...

IDmax's ,great sub but hates to be over powered

hate to see another one of those,"I blew my IDmax" threads

as they are pretty common

I noticed they are common as well. Whats the best way to check gain and clipping? Would this last a while with proper gains in a ported box? Would there be a better sub out there to handle a full 1200w RMS without breaking the $300 mark?
