Diamond 10" D6 enclosure size

I have a pair of D610D4's in my midsize truck under the seat. They're in a sealed box, .8cu. ft. per side powered by a D61000.1. They could use more power but I don't have the space for the D61500.1 behind the seat. They will bump but they're no Fi's. They are great for SQ, though, great for rock. Very smooth response.

Well I can't fit Fi's anyways unless I got the SSD (5.75 mounting depth max). Even fi themselves recommended I try an AA Assassin if ai wanted more SQ. I did, and it's nice but I want more...

Now I'm wondering what they changed in their 07 line-up if anything. RMS according to Diamond's website is 500watts but everyone on here is saying they need alot more power....

I sceen different specs listed for D6's could one spec be for an older version?

I hear you on the D6 1500.1 thats why I did not even consider it as well. My Amps have to go under my front seats as I don't have the crew cab, just the King Cab and there is no room on the backwall the seats are right up against it.... Luckily I hear the D5 series were rated at 12v and are capable of putting out more power than rated (in a smaller footprint than their new amps as well).

I also heard the board was designed by Robert Zeff on this amp...

Where I'm confused is the amp has 140 amp fuse (I believe) but uses 4ga wire. My 4ga wire from knukonceptz says it is only rated for 120 amps. I found a 120 amp maxi fuse but now I'm being told the Streetwires Dual Fused distro block may not be able to handle the 120 amp maxi...

So how the hell does anyone run power to these things....

Just another vouch for "you didn't make a wrong decision, those have great SQ". But, if you don't like them and send them back for any reason, check TCsounds out, the TCs work well in small sealed enclosures, haven't checked the mounting depth though. Just to give you added support I own 2 12 D6s, they are ran off a d61000.1, and are in a slot port enclosure, 1 cube tuned to 40 (not the best enclosure in my opinion) and boy are they loud, and very clean sounding. But if you do decide to go ported might I suggest going around 1 - 1.25 cubes tuned low, say around 30-32. Good luck with your choice.

Ok thanks guys, I appreciate all the responses.

2400 watts heh!

I have another thread in the amps forum trying to figure out which fuses to get so if you want to help more you can answer my Q's over there.

I looked into TC subs, I just wanted a 1000, but they require too much mounting depth (origional sub I wanted 2 years ago was an RL-P), Maybe the Db500's would fit I don't know. I have sceen that some of their 8" subs will fit but I figure it would be better to go with a less powerful 10" like the assassin over those.

I think I will just go ahead and stuff the box with polyfill as well when I get them.
