Oh so it was a problem with the parts used versus the overall design... that makes sense now. that's terrible. I've read great things about the protos. Too bad this whole ordeal drug the company under. Thanks for clearing this up guys. I now have a better understanding of the situation. I was always curious as to why the production models are regarded as a POS while the protos are praised so much. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i learned somthing new today. Good INFO
Glad you learned something. There are alot of people who are scared to death of these amps cause they don't know if there getting a good one or bad one an want to blame bill for the faults which was not the case.

I mean he gave every penny he had to dat an they screwed him in the end an left him with nothing basically but to the ones who know the whole story still stick behind these amps because of what they can do.

An I see you have a proto as well I hope you like it as much as the rest of us it's a power house all in it's own an if it happens to give you the short stick it would be well worth to get it fixed but when you get it running let us know how it goes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

whats the rate going for repair on these?
Depends on what you blow...

I liked the Proto I had... Here are some shots so you can see the difference, it is very easy to tell a Proto from a Production... The Protos have no writing, are all black, have plastic knobs, plastic mounting feet, and the heat sink has a "fin" like design on top... The Productions are engraved/have writing on the sides, metal knobs, metal mounting feet, and have a "Smooth" heat sink on top with bare metal stripe... Thats just the differences in looks on the out side obviously...

Yep sure did...
Just when I thought everything was clear. Lol now I'm confused again.... there were plenty of "protos" that proved to be nice amps..the production amps get a a mak over and a majority of them go up in smoke. Its blamed on shotty parts from the buildhouse, yet its a completerly different amp all together. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I don't own one and probably never will, but curiousity gets the best of me on this.

Get a proto...

why would any company have that many "PROTOTYPES"?
the first amp had way better rca inputs...
That was my point. Lol The ex-owner unloaded like 30 on CACO... and theres several out there already. So lets just say AT LEAST 50 out there floating around. (I'd guess a LOT more.) I misunderstood his post, he didnt have a pallet of the protos, but he did have 25-30 of them that he got from the buildhouse. Thats still a **** load of prototypes. lol Doesnt make sense why there would be that many "prototypes" that are all the same amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
