It seems that a ton of people on here are Rainbow fanbois (not that it's a bad thing). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am finially in the process of putting a nice SQ system together after going about 7 years without any kind of aftermarket car stereo. (pwned by marriage and kids)

I am curious if there are any people on here that have pulled the trigger and gotten Rainbow componets, namely the SLC's or Germaniums, without ever actually listening to them, and have been disappointed.

I would love to hear a pair for myself but I honestly have no idea how I would do that. All of the positive comments have made me seriously consider spending $450 on components that seem almost too good to be true....

So, how about it? We've all heard the good, but is there any bad or ugly?

Thanks!

Also, I REALLY don't want this to turn into another tired old vs. thread, so please try not to. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Well there are probably about 100+ members on ca forums (caraudio.com) and caf forums (caraudioforum.com) So you'll get all the responses you need, just not for me? im actaully just like you so

IM SUSCRIBED +1 TO TALLY

Mike

My answers would be obvious as I support and sell the line to the fullest, but with good reasoning behind it. The Only complaints Ive seen/hear to date were due to installer/user error. Otherwise none, at least that Im aware have been reported.

Any installation tricks/tips/warnings for the Germaniums? Are there any pecularities to be aware of or things to watch out for while installing them?

Also, do they tend to sound better with the tweeters located near the mids or separated (for example in my car the stock tweeters are up on the dash by the windshield while the mids are in the doors)?

6spdcoupe,

Either you are a really great guy, a great salesman, or both. Your candor when replying to people's questions regarding the Rainbows is one of the main factors why I am trying to convince my wife that Im not crazy for wanting to give you hunreds of dollars...

eh not the same as Megans tho. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
You are all horn dogged out tonight aint ya!?!? Rainbows what? Lets talk about boobies instead...ya know ta ta's, tatters, ***** bags //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

One thing I would say about Rainbow is that in they can be a little too smooth of a speaker...might not resolve the details that one would like? This is a sound preference of course.

I would hope to think great guy more than great salesman. Honestly put alot of the products I carry sell themseleves based on reputation and word of mouth alone. I just help to provide the product and assistance if needed.

Ive spent countless amounts of hours on the phone/email/PMs/etc with dozens of members from here and other forums that either bought something, planned on doing so or never have or will. Theyre all the same people to me. Just other individuals sharing the same passions as myself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Fox: That is good to know. Could be important to some people. Questions that come up in response though are:

Is that simply due to the composition of the tweeters (non-metal dome)? (ie, something people would expect from silk dome tweeters)

Does that change/improve with more/less wattage? (Also what's the ideal wattage to throw at Germs?)

Anything from 85ish per side and up will work fine. For that particular set 150+ would really make em shine and make the purchase all that much more rewarding.

Bearing in mind they are the newer version of the CAL25 tweets which really put Rainbow on the map along with the at the time Arc ACS comp set. Of course various opinions will arise about this, but mostly in favor of em.
