determining box volume of an angled box

So theoretically, if Im thinking clearly, no matter the orientation of the panels, the volume should be the same? Correct?
Assuming all other dimensions are the same (top depth, bottom depth, and height) then the first picture would have a higher volume than the bottom.

Well... here would be the two ways you could correctly build it... If Im thinking right, volume shouldnt change...
