Hello all I just joined this forum, and could use diagnostic help. I hope I'm posting in the right area.
I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox, totally stock audio. Three days ago, my radio turned on but there was no sound. Whether FM or XM radio, or CD, nothing. Then, maybe 3 minutes later, I heard a click, along with the pop of power coming to the speakers, and every speaker worked. This behavior has continued. Almost always (but not literally always), delayed audio, with the delay ranging from let's say 3-10 minutes. Once I have sound, if I turn the radio off and then back on immediately, the sound is there right away. If the car gets turned off and restarted, though, it's delayed.
Although I am an audio guy (sound engineer), car audio is not my focus. Any thoughts? I'm on my third Delco amplifier, btw. The first two would up cutting out on some channels. Does this sound like an amp issue, or a head issue, with no power getting to the amp right away. (Or perhaps something else) Thanks! Confused...
