pretty straight forward, planning on sticking a deka 9a34 under the hood and a 9a31 in the back, want to run 3k watts, stock 135amp alt... will i have problems?

and i've been reading everyone talking about isolators and relays and what not, i can't just run the batteries in parrallel and call it a day?

I'd add another battery to the rear and you should be good to go, if not just add another.

Its not needed if you don't play your system on full blast for hours with the car off.

Do that and then test your system at full tilt. If you see any hint of dimming, you know what to do. I would get the H.O. alt just not to worry about that, but you know your financial situation better than us.

yeah the 34 and 31 are 330 shipped, i found a 160 amp alt for 150$ but don't know if itll fit on my truck, i have a 2002 dodge ram with 4.7, it says itll fit 01-06 durango, commander, and cherokee, but no dodge ram.

and i can't for the life of me find something like a 220 or 260

You should be able to fit a 31 up front. I say get 2 x 31s and upgrade the alt when you can. Keep an eye on the battery voltages and if they start to dip below 12.8v with everything off, you need to keep the volume down a little until you get the HO alt. I have a feeling that will be the case.

You can go with the 34 up front and the 31 out back, but you run the risk of shorter lifespan since they are not identical batteries. Some people don't like that advice, but it is basic battery 101 knowledge.

i could probably stuff a 31 in the battery tray with some chopping, i don't think voltage is an issue, im running a bxi2006 off the stock battery (850 cranking amps) with no dimming issues at all i want to run a zx2500 i've already done the big 3 but i think an extra 1000watts would be the killer for my stock battery, and i NEVER bump with the truck off.

Give Mechman a call im sure he has one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

with sufficient wire it should be fine.
pretty much what i was thinkin, but i wanted a second opinion, i figure if the stock crap battery (which is still huge... trucks...) will take 1800w than a little investment in a stock size 34 and a big boy 31 deep cycle dekas would take 2700-2800 i want to run 4 sdc2.5 10's but my bxi2k won't put out much of anything at 2ohms, and i don't think it would like 0.5 ohms very much at all

im sure he does lol when i decide to step up to the plate and a couple big boy amps (long term plan is 4 hdc 10s on 2 sundown 3ks strapped) then ill definately be looking into a mechman 260 or bigger, but seeing how the sound deadening in my standard cab truck is lacking along with other reinforcements, im fairly certain 4 aq 10's on 6k watts would certainly vibrate my dodge into an official parts only truck lol
