I wish companies would still make amps to make a name for themselves like back in the day. Some still do, all of the forum boner brands, but no mainstream.

Not really. I have a set of Orion coax speakers in one of my rides and they actually sound great. Especially for the $50 I paid for them at Fry's. I tried over 20 sets of speakers on the sound wall and it was one of the 3 best sounding sets. Brand/Price/"Quality" does not matter compared to actual sound. Sad to see another brand lost to the economy. Hopefully the new company will pump money into R&D and come up with some new product lines.

Orion went down hill only a few short years after they were bought by DEI. With the new owners I would expect them to be around the same "quality" they have been as of recent. If any Orion/HCCA lovers were upset it was when DEI purchased the company..not now.

Orion hasn't done anything remarkable since the XTR sub line back in 1990. I don't expect any more of the company now.
