Has anyone used this deck and ran it activing using the built in 3-way crossover network?

I was curious because I didn't think this deck was capable of that?

High-Pass filtering will only go to 200 (far too low for tweets).

Three sets of preouts (front/rear/sub)

I was thinking if this unit could be run with an active/passive setup.. maybe for a front 2-way possibly.. With a crossover that would biamp two separate channels to tweets and mids (something like the QSD216 x-over). Then you would have all channels to a front two-way and sub running active for sub and mid cuttoff, but passive between mids and tweets.. About the only way I could think of.

I wonder how that would work out?

I kinda like the 980BT with the built in bluetooth and burr-brown dacs..

I wonder if the normal untuned audio signal output is as good as the 880?

So there is no switch on the side of the unit to switch to network mode, correct?

When I researched this unit, I downloaded the install and ops manuals.. I found nothing like a networking type of switch.. Appears to be very conventional.. 4 channels and sub and x-over between them.. But there are separate x-over points for front and rear channels.. which is where they get the misleading 3-way x-over spec.. Still it's limit is 200 hz.

So, you could go 3-way frontstage, just not active (from the head unit) to tweets/mids.. They'd share a channel for time alignment and and get their filtering and post-head unit by another active xover before the amps, or passive after the amps.

Ah ok, ya I didn't wanna get the unit, but someone who was selling one stated that yes you can go active with it, and I wanted to make sure for myself that it is not active capable.

I'm still torn these days - I love my CD7100, but if the 880prs didn't have all the noise issues it did, I prefer its functionality and abilities.

ok.. you just threw me a curve ball.. I haven't really dug into it but what does the 880 do that the 7100 does not? I'd love either.. I dig the 7100 if I could find "the" price for one.
