DEH-P8500MP pioneer help needed.

i have a 8500mp and got it all installed and bam press open on the deck and it opens for 5 seconds and the closes for 5 and then opens and then closes and so on and so fourth. If i press that little button that resets the microprossesor it stops until you hit open again. i dont know how i could have installed it wrong. It kind of sounded like one of the demo modes but dosent seem to quit. please help if you know what is going on .. thanks.

after doing a search i see that a few others have had this problem. did the new ribbons help?
