Deh-p800prs

I thought I remember hearing that it does, but I don't see it on the site either. I will not jump to conclusions until the manuel is released.
I don't understand why they wouldn't release everything at one time. Why do they do pics first, then some general specs, and then finally the correct full spec sheet. All it does is throw people off until everything has been released.
They are gheys,

I'm pretty sure that the 800 should have built in USB. From CES pics of it, there was USB displayed on the little blurb about the 800. I sure as shit hope it has built in USB, that's the make or break for me, to be honest //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I use my jump drive with my 6900 90% of the time... I neeeeeed it to be there! Lol... I want the 800 real bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Probably already listed somewhere but got this from a link on audiojunkies.. Whata great site by the way:

Quoting:

The DEH-P800PRS is the replacement for the DEH-P880PRS. This is one of the premier decks for the high end car audio guy who wants to run a full active system (all crossovers built into the head unit instead of using the passive crossovers you would get with a set of component speakers). The new model includes new cosmetics and also adds the ability to play media through a USB port.

From Audiojunkies:

Pioneer DEH-P800PRS Headunit Features:

* Copper plated chassis

* Linear DA converter

* 3 high-volt pre-outs

* HD Radio

* USB input

* Auto-EQ and Auto-Time Alignment

* Dual (L/R) 16-Band Graphic EQ

* Burr-Brown DACs

* Suggested Price: $550.00

.... So basically, we've added a copper chassis, gone to the dark side with the faceplate, added a USB input (yay!), and kept or possibly slightly improved the DACs...

uh.... Yeah.. I want one.. Thanks! Reason over the 9887.... USB.. Get those stinking discs out of my dadgum car!! Rip it lossless and play it.. if it will support lossless formats.

I'd guess you're guaranteeing a digital input into the 800's processing and DAC's.. A biggie I'd think.

Thumb drives I imagine are far less expensive than any iPod for the same amount of data storage... They're just providing digital storage and transfer so they're simple and cheap. Flash or HD drives either.

caveat... I may be wrong about that.. just a guess that they're lots cheaper than typical iPods.

When you think about it... The iPod is just a proprietary small portable storage device with all the licensing and protocols needed to access and control them.. And from what I've read it's darn near impossible to get digital from them without going through their cheap output stage even if the wolfson dac's are ok... Verses something that just acts like another hard drive like a USB drive.

Seems like I'm seeing more and more new head units going USB instead of catering to Apple's one player on the market in a sea of hundreds of portable digital data storage devices the size of a lighter.
