Looking at doing an install with the head unit and just wondering how easy the ipod control is to use. Just kinda seems sketchy sounding using only a 2x16 screen.

well, i just mean how easy is it to see what your doing.

I run a 880 w/ ipod control, but the 490 has a much less defined screen.

I have a 490 deh-p490ib and the controls are similar to controlling an ipod. The only problem I have had is that you can't skip through your artists and albums according to the first letter of the name. You have to hit the up or down button to skip through each individual artist name. Which means that if you have a lot of artists, it can take a while to get to one in the middle of the list.

is it pretty quick tho? i know on my 880 if you scroll to quick you'll have to wait for it to load.

Yeah it is pretty quick. I have not noticed any delay waiting for it to load.
